Voices Against Bullying (VAB) started out in 2019 addressing the growing need in the community for support with the bullying issues in local schools. A facebook group was created to bring the community together, share their stories & resources, seek mutual peer support, to find real help and most importantly: solutions.
The group exploded quickly, going well beyond just parents, to include youth, teachers, trustees, mental health workers, advocates and other professionals with resources to help.
An online community of trust was born.
Through the multitude of Voices that came forward sharing stories of their children who has been bullied so extensively that they wanted to end their life, a common thread had emerged…
We needed to bridge the communication gap between school and home.
Our social media connections had become global, but our immediate goal remained local: To be a positive influence for change in how our local schools handle bullying and harassment in our schools.
We are proud to offer community based solutions with our newly launched Advocacy Program in 2022 which provides free support to families going through bullying situations.
